Our Director of Coaching, Aldo, will be running a training session for all players interested in playing soccer in 2020. His session will reflect the clubs Junior Development Plan, ‘The Mudgee Way’. Participants do not need to bring boots, but we do suggest they wear shin pads.
Committee members will be available for questions.
This is the first of our come try days. If you can’t make this one the next session will be held on Saturday, 1st February 2020.

As we near the start of the 2020 season, we would like to highlight a few changes for the season to come. We believe that these procedures will make for a better outcome for players, coaches and parents.
TRAINING NIGHTS AND TIMES
For better team training outcomes our aim for 2020 is to implement the following training schedules. Once we know the amount of teams we will be able to better refine the training schedule.
Mini Roo Compulsory Training Nights
- Under 6 to Under 8 – Wednesdays, 5pm to 6.30pm, Field 3
- Under 9 to Under 11 – Monday, 5pm to 6.30pm, Field 3
As part of a productive training schedule we highly suggest that Under 8’s to Under 11’s train twice a week. After the Competition Age Coaches meeting, we will be able to set a second training night for those teams.
On the compulsory training nights, each team will be allocated a training location on Field 3.
Competition Aged Training Nights
- Under 12 to Under 14 – Tuesday and Thursday, 5pm to 6.30pm, Field 3
- Under 15 to Under 18 – Any day after 6.30pm, Field 3
Because of the limited space for the Mini Roo’s training and to allow every team to train under lights, we will have to restrict training on Monday & Wednesdays from 5pm to 6.30pm. During the Competition Aged Coaches meeting we will discuss preferred training nights and times. We aim to setup training areas for all teams.
Girls Training Nights ( Under 12 to Under 18)
As part of phase 2 of ‘The Mudgee Way’, girls teams will be training at the same time, under the supervision of our Female Football Technical Director, Matt Norris. Once we know the number of teams we will be able to set a training schedule.
As part of the implementation of our Junior Development Plan, ‘The Mudgee Way’, coach education plays an imperative part of our junior development.
Early in the season the club will be holding coaching courses. All coaches are expected to attend their age appropriate course. We are aiming to have ALL our coaches suitably qualified in 2020.
The courses will be –
- Grassroots (Under 6 – Under 8) – Thur, 27th Feb, 2020, 6.30pm
- Skill Training Course ( Under 8/9 to Under 12) Date TBA
- Game Training Course ( Under 12 to Under 18) Date TBA
Coaches are welcome to attend any course, even it isn’t age appropriate.
We will also be running coaching workshops. Our Director of Coaching, Aldo, will be at training sessions and games during the season. He will identify particular skills that may need attention and run a workshop to address the issue. This is also a great opportunity for all coaches to share their experiences and techniques with each other.
ALL COACHES ARE TO ATTEND THESE WORKSHOPS.
In order to ensure coaches attend, we will hold 2 workshops during the same week. We will hold a workshop every 2 months of the season.
From next year, every team will be required to supply a ground official to every home and away game. Every team will be supplied with an officials vest to be worn at their teams games. We will post more information about the role of the ground official closer to the start of the season.
As a fundraising levy, every junior will have a $20 raffle book included in their fees. There are 10 tickets in each book. Members are able to sell the raffle tickets or keep them for themselves. There will be extra tickets for sale from the Clubhouse.
The raffle will be drawn at the end of year presentation. The prizes are:
- 1st Prize – Xbox One X
- 2nd Prize – 32″ HD LED LCD TV
- 3rd Prize – Rebel Sports Gift Vouchers
Fees for next year are:
- Under 6 – 7 = $370 inc GST
- Under 8 – 9 = $480 inc GST
- Under 10 – 11 = $490 inc GST
(Includes – Playing strip, shorts, socks, team photo, trophy and 10 raffles tickets)
- Under 12 – $490 inc GST
- Under 13-14 – $500 inc GST
- Under 15-18 – $510 inc GST
(Includes – Club polo, shorts, socks, team photo, trophy and 10 raffle tickets)
- Seniors – $500 inc GST (Includes – Club polo, shorts and socks)
This works out to an average of $24 per competition week (20 games). This average does not include trials, preseason training and preseason games.
Players fee’s must be paid in full before they can receive their uniform and are able to play.
What do my fees cover?
The attached graph is the breakdown of your fees.
- Equipment is football related repairs or purchase eg. pop up goals, goal repair, corner flags, training poles, etc.
- Training kit includes a teams training balls, cones, bibs and bag.
- Maintenance is related to the clubhouse and surrounds.
Monday, 25th & Wednesday, 27th November
5pm to 6.15pm – Field 4 (across the road from the Main Clubhouse).
The training sessions are open to all Girls aged 12 to 18. If you are interested in joining us in 2020 or just want to find out what is happening next year, you are invited to participate in our preseason training.

As part of the Junior Development Plan,’ The Mudgee Way’, the clubs focus is on player development. We strongly believe that player development comes from coach education. In 2020 we will continue the high standard of coach education with a focus on player technique.

Under 12 to 18 Trials
Trials and grading plays an important role in the development of players. By placing players in a team that will suitably challenge them as players will improve their playing abilities. Coaches can then focus on developing a team who have similar playing abilities, tailoring training to improve their teams football knowledge and skills.
Trials will be undertaken over 4 weeks with all divisions trialing together. During the first 2 weeks impartial selectors will grade players according to their ability and they will be placed in an appropriate team. During the last 2 weeks the coaches of those teams will be invited to assist in finalising grading.
All player must be register to play for Mudgeeraba Soccer Club to be allowed to trial. Players do not need to pay their registration fees at this time. By regisistering we will know the number of players participating and we can better tailor trials.
After trials, all fees must be paid in full to secure your place in your selected team.
Kangaroo trials are for players in Under 9’s, 10’s & 11’s. Kangaroo teams are for players with a higher skill level, that wish to be challenged and improve their playing ability. We strongly encourage all players in these age groups to trial for Kangaroos.
Team Allocations ( Under 6 to 11)
For those players not selected for Kangaroos (Under 9 to 11) and the Under 6 to 8’s you come down to your team allocation afternoon.
Here we will place players into teams. We will try to place players with friends, where possible. We will also give last minute information to parents to ensure you are kept up to date.
Mini Roo Carnival & Intraclub Games ( Under 6 to 11)
In the Mini Roo Carnival, Under 6 to Under 11’s teams will play their age group in short games. We are holding the carnival early to allow players to start playing games. We understand that teams would not have had time to train, but this gives coaches the opportunity assess their teams and the players have fun doing what they signed up for.
The two following weekends will be intra-club games. These are games played against other club teams. These games are treated like season Saturday games, normal game lengths and start times. Just extra games for the players. During these games, the director of coaching, Aldo, will be looking at teams to see whether they are placed in the correct Mini Roos Competition.
These are the days that registered members come to pay their fees and collect their uniform. The committee is also available to answer any questions.
Before you come down we encourage you to register at home, select option to pay at club and print out your invoice. We do have computers available to register, but there is usually a wait. We also suggest that you register at night or early in the morning as Playfootball servers are generally slower during the day as players are registering all over Australia.
If you miss sign on day the clubhouse will be open Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5.30pm.
Currently, the season for Competition Age ( Under 12 – 18) and Mini Roos (Under 6 -11) will start from Friday, 20th March, 2020. Please check back here for any date changes.
Come Try Day
